What is Frame study?

Frame is single significant image of film or any video. Various frames has various meanings in movie. For example fixed camera is indicate entrance of any character.  Frame help to understand meaning or conveyed message which is not spoken by the character. Also sometimes frame speaks more than character.frame study is most important in film analysis.click and read more about frame study. Here, i have analyzing some frames from The Great Dictator.

Frames from movie :-

Frame one :-

This two is a beginning frames of Movie. Which clearly giving idea of war situation. The movie indicating poor situation of both the world war. In beginning also the film maker mentioned it. Here it is,
In first frame we see soldiers, and in second frame there is a huge weapons which showing power of each nation. And the power of distruction. cruelty of war. And senselessness and lack of humanity. War is always distructive. And this two frames are visual image of distruction.

Second frame :-

In this frame, we see conflict of superior and inferior service officers of army. One who has no power, have to obey his master. Powerful ruled over powerless and suppress him. And unauthorised person have to follow his master's orders even if it is dangerous for his own life. And even if he will die. He has to obey his master or we can say authorised person.

Third Frame :-

This frame is of Hynkel's speech. The scene set after the accident of the soldier. After the accident the soldier sent to the hospital and he remain there for 20  years, unaware about that political changes are taking place around him.he not know that Hynkel was become dictator of Tomania. Here, is a allegorical representation of Hitler. And this frame is talking about Hitler, and his great command over his speech. He was very good speaker and almost everyone at that time was influenced by him.

At that time only the voice of Hitler was been heard. Which shows Hitler's or we can say Nazi's superiority over other party as well as people. People trust him even if he is wrong. And no one dare to go against him.

Fourth Frame :-

In this frame Hynkel is playing with childrens. Which is allegorical symbolization of Hitler. Generally Political leaders used to do this kind of traps to show themselves kind and good hearted.if we see in current time, then also we find many political leaders playing with childrens. Here is somsome photographs among them.

Fifth Frame :-

When Soldier came back in society after his plane got crashed and he lost his memory for a long time. He found that things get changed now. He open his Barbara shop, but at that time two soldiers came and painted "Jew" over his window. And when the soldier try to protest, they used to beat him and try to hang him with rope. This frame shows poor condition of Jews at the time when Hitler rule over Germany. They do not allowed to raise their voice even if they were right. Also we see here, cruelty of Nazi soldiers, who was beating the soldier for no reason. Jews were suffer similar pain at that time. Which here, Charlie Chaplin portrayed very well.

Sixth Frame :-

In this sequence of the movie, Hynkel playing with globe. Which symbolize his dream to rule over the world. As his one of the minister Garbitsch addressed him as a "Dictator of the World". He started imagine himself as a dictator of the world, at same time the soldier in barabar shop moving Razer over someone's Beard. If we compare both we find that Hynkel's game with Globe is quite harmful than Razer. The frame shows evil among Hitler's mind.

Thus to conclude, we can say that, the movie is full of important frames, which helps to compare Hitler and Hynkel. As well as give us some visuals about present time.
